Circumcision is a surgical procedure done with sterile technique, and the
baby needs to be immobilized to safely perform the procedure. While there
is no medical reason to do or not do a circumcision, if the parents opt for
their baby boy to be circumcised, I think breastfeeding would compromise
the safety of the procedure (don't want any slip ups) and the maintainence
of the sterile field. As a mom of 3 boys, and a nursery nurse, I wouldn't
want to compromise the outcome of the procedure. Mary
