Dear Friends:
Rachel tells us of a mother who had a manual removal of her placenta and
two days postpartum, has no milk. The OB/GYN feels that a D&C "would leave
her infertile." C'mon, give me a break. What in the world would justify
such a stupid remark, unless that OB/GYN's technique is terrible?
I am curious about the "no milk" via pumping. What about hand expression
of drops of colostrum on a spoon? Breast changes in pregnancy or postpartum?
Perhaps hand expression would be gentler, more effective and more
productive than pumping. Keeping baby skin-to-skin would promote frequent bf.
     Warmly,
