Hi all,
A mom called me -- exclusively breastfed four month old -- got her DPT
vaccines (and whatever else is given at 4 months). Baby got diarrhea -- went
from a stool every few days to explosive, mucousy, watery green stools up to
5-6 times a day. No illness associated with it. After two weeks, mom took
baby into peds (baby had gained only 1 ounce in this two weeks). Peds took
her off breast (!) and put her on Nutramigen for four days. Today is day 3
of the Nutram., and stools are no different.
Question is -- has anyone else heard of this as a reaction to the vaccines?
Mom just happened to mention this "coincidence" and told me it happened with
the first set of shots as well, but it didn't last as long. Peds brushed it
off and said the diarrhea had nothing to do with the shots. Mom isn't sure
why he put her on Nutram.
