I have a mom-client, G5P4 who is breastfeeding a 19 month old. She had her
first cycle 1/15/02, duration of 4-5 days. Since then has not cycled again;
on cycle day 37. Hx of normal, 28-29 day cycles. Breastfeeds one or two
times per night and three - five times in daytime, but reports this is less
than child had been nursing a month ago. Four negative pg tests. Wondering
if she could have returned to a state of lactation induced amenorrhea? (Or
perhaps too early for a + pg test?)
Thanks in Advance,
Ann Marie Henninger, RN, BSN, sitting for IBCLC exam July 2002
