I've seen many ritual circ's, including my son's.  I've yet to see parents
who "did not do well".  Rather, we have a party to celebrate the covenant.
I can only visualize one position where BF might be possible:  If the mom's
breasts have enough movement range, she might be able to lean over the
baby's head and maneuver her breast into a position that allows baby to
latch on (I'm assuming the circ is being done the 8th day, after BF is well
established).
