A message from Doraine Bailey, posted with permission:
Friends:
A heads up for everyone. I have just discovered that Growing Families
International have a new Childbirth book coming out, scheduled for Aug 2002
publication.
Anne Marie Ezzo (of Baby Wise) is co-author on a new book expected out in
August. "Birth by Design: The Expectant Parent's Handbook, a Biblical
Perspective on the Issues of Childbearing" offers a biblical perspective on
pregnancy and the many issues surrounding the birth of a baby. Includes
topics such as the baby's development, labor and delivery, and newborn care
and nurture. Be on the lookout for this text in your local bookstores - it
is already available through Amazon (with over 1.8 million copies already
pre-ordered).

I bring this to your attention so that members of the breastfeeding and
birthing advocacy community can prepare. I have no idea at all what it will
say, but given their past track record on interpersonal relations in the
early newborn period, I am very curious. Furthermore, it comes out on/near
WBW. The publishers may try to capitalize on this, as the theme for WBW
2002 is "Breastfeeding: Healthy Mothers and Healthy Babies," focusing in
particular on mother's health and childbirth.
Please feel free to forward this information on to your own constituencies.
