I want to get a concensus from the experts regarding handling of expressed
human milk in the NICU, as it relates to CMV. I am asking about mother's
own milk, not banked milk. What are other NICU's doing? Freezing all milk
immediately?....Not worrying too much about it?....I'm trying to update
policy, and am stuck, and want some expert opinions. I'm thinking that
milk can be refrigerated for up to 48 hours, and still be ok to put in the
deep freezer for 6 months. Thanks in advance for advice. Mary
