I think the most important one is a study on breastfeeding education for
new moms in Costa Rica. As BFing rates increased, they noticed as an aside,
that infant abandonment was decreasing. In a Central American country
wracked with poverty, this was a significant change in maternal behavior.
When I get back to my office Tuesday, I'll pull out my copy and send the
cite.
If you can access any of the medical research search engines like MedPro
using 'breastfeeding' or 'abandonment' or 'abuse' or 'Costa Rica', you
might find it.
