For those interested in this topic, Dr. Jeanne Ballard recently published :
Treatment of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome with breast milk Containing Methadone (J Pernat Nurs 2002:15 (4) 76-85.  It was  a good comparison of 3 treatment modalities and outcomes on a small population. She meets with a lot of these moms prenatally at our recovery and pregnancy clinic, and we have had moms pumping who have been on doses as high as 150 mg.
