Hi Mimi,
Of course we know that engineers are not devoid of social skills. Look
at our own Linda Pohl, brilliant LC, brilliant engineer, and wonderful
person. There are just some professions that work with some kinds of
brains. My son with SI is a sweetheart: cuddly, warm, sweet, but just a
little bit "different". His brain works along a more creative pathway,
which causes that difference. That's why he will probably be a
scientist, computer scientist, engineer or writer. The above is a list
of his current career goals, and they are good matches for him. No
offense was meant to any profession. Just saying that it's good that
there is a place for the kids who work a little differently, that's all.
