A plea to all Lactnetters with NICU experience--
I am a beginner in this area. Recently had questions raised about using milk for preemies when mom is taking Percoset for pain. Checked with Ruth Lawrence's Rochester phone line and got good info, but not a black and white answer.
Does anyone have policies or protocols re ANY meds when moms are pumping for preemies, since Hale and others do not specify med info for babies not full-term? Is it case by case and based on baby's stability, determined by neonatologist?
Any specific or general information would be so appreciated.
