I don't know if the often very funny TV comedy series Father Ted is
shown internationally...its main characters are two Irish priests who
live with their housekeeper Mrs Doyle on 'Craggy Island'. Father Ted
likes to think of himself as sophisticated and intellectual. In the
episode I saw last night, Ted is trying to convince Mrs Doyle he
loves tea made the old-fashioned way, and not from a machine. 'Mrs
Doyle.....tea from a machine to me is like milk from a bottle to a
baby....ask the baby what he'd rather have, and he'd much prefer to
have milk direct from his mother's....er.....um....' blush,
confusion, stammer, as he shuts up, unable to complete the comparison
: )))))
It's actually very funny....we're laughing at Ted being unable to say
the 'B' word, not at the 'B' word itself : )
