Somebody recently posted (and I haven't been able to track it down) about
giving premies supplementation by bottle, with the comment that it allows
mother and baby to go home from the hospital earlier and that they can then
make the transition to exclusively feeding at the breast.

I'm wondering if others have seen as many struggles with that transition as
I have. One of the reasons I was strongly supporting my daughter-in-law to
avoid bottles with Sebastian is that I have seen many mothers four weeks,
six weeks, even longer after they have left the hospital still having a
tough time trying to get the baby exclusively at the breast. I often see
what looks like nipple confusion to me. I worry that many of them give up.

What's your experience?
