I worked with a male RN in labor and delivery for several years. He was a
nice guy, a good nurse,
and his patients were comfortable with him. He had moved from another
state, where he had also worked L&D. No chaperone was present, but most of
the time a family member was in the room.
If a man, either RN or MD, can do a vag exam with respect and care, they can
learn about breastfeeding too.
