Janna,
I do not know that grapeseed oil would be beneficial--maybe, but that may be an attempt to increase essential fatty acids, which I believe would be helpful. She could use flax (min 3 tbsp per day) or my preference is Udo's Perfected Oil Blend (no $$ connection). Also, is she using the single-sided nursing approach (one side per multiple feedings). I have also found adding a calc/mag supplement to the diet helpful.
With my dd I had this problem, often leading to breast infections and the sling is what saved me. B/c I did't like to carry her on my left side, I nursed many feedings on the right before taking her out of the sling and catching up on the right (this was in the days before LC's seemed to know as much about OAMER and over-supply as now). I also found great relief with the calc/mag which I took for another reason and then saw the results related to bf. I also never took an antibiotic--homeopathy always resolved the infection in less than 24 hours.
