Thank you all for your suggestions for the mom who loses motor, speech, and
thinking ability after eating more than 45 g of carbohydrate.  I've passed
them all along, but haven't yet heard back.

Your allergy suspicions were especially interesting to me, and I looked at
Doris Rapp's book, "Is This Your Child?"  She makes reference to a little
girl whose ability to speak (but not to comprehend) was affected by dairy,
and a boy whose legs would collapse on exposure to wheat.  I've copied those
passages for the mom, too, and will be eager to hear her reaction.

For the moment, I'm plunking for allergy, though how that would link to the
fact that *all* carbohydrates seem to have the same effect on her seems
pretty odd.
