Hello all!
I have a mom who I am trying to help through a yeast infection. She first
took nystatin(both her and infant)but it came back when treatment stopped.
She is now to the end of treatment of diflucan(has 2-3 days left)and she
feels the same burning coming back. I have searched the archives but could
not find anything about diflucan NOT working. She did feel that it worked
for a short time(about a week). I am perplexed at what to do for this mom.
Nipples appear normal except for the yeasty, pinkish, reddish look. they
appear normal when infant comes off, not abnormal in shape at all. Infant
is 1 month old. Mom has never had any, cracking, bleeding or bruising. He
has always nursed beautifully! Please help! If anyone has ever dealt with
this before, I would appreciate your input. You can e-mail me privately or
post to the list if you feel other would benefit! THank you!
