Today my husband, a United Methodist pastor, received a promotional packet from Cokesbury, the publishing house of the United Methodist Church. One piece in the packet was a promotional flyer that features a giant picture of a baby bottle above an infant with bright eyes eager with anticipation. The copy: "You did a great job nourishing their bodies. Where do you turn to nourish their souls?" and subsequent information on children's bible and prayer resources available through the company.
I cannot even begin to describe the frustration I feel knowing this flyer went to all the United Methodist churches in the country. If anyone wants to see the ad, you can e-mail me privately. If you are interested in writing to the company, direct your response to:
