In response to my post on first latch experience, Lynn pointed out that you
can have apgars taken while baby is nursing. What I didn't make clear was
that since this is my 4th child, all ecologically breastfed, I wanted to
give him the opportunity to self attach when he was really ready. He went
from softly crying to a wide gape and wide eyes almost instantly when held
against my skin. All of this happened within approx. the first 5 minutes of
his life. It was a truly beautiful birth :).
I hope this makes my previous post a little clearer.
