I was fortunate to hear Dr. Hartmann speak in Ottawa this past spring. He
showed us ultrasounds of the breasts during letdown. Sure enough, as soon
as the let down occurred you could see the ducts opening up and the milk
flowing out. What was really fascinating was the milk in the nonfeeding
breast. After let down the milk went back into the ducts and closed back
up. You really couldn't see specific sinuses before the letdown. I believe
this info should have been published this summer or sometime shortly
thereafter. If Dr. Hartmann is ever near your area lecturing I highly
recommend going to see him. He is fascinating. He has done a lot of
breast feeding research.
