This sounds like it could be an intraductal papilloma. These are
growths inside the milk duct that erode and bleed, sometimes pretty
copiously. They are benign. Some docs like to remove the entire duct,
along with a wedge of breast, others prefer to leave them alone and see
if they regress. They are usually unilateral.
