Aloha,
In Hawai'i, Gentian Violet is available in one of the drug stores. It sits
on the shelf collecting dust. It is alcohol base though.
Hope you don't mind a musing from me here. When I was the lab assistant at a
private school in Hawai'i, I walked into a lab that desperately needed to be
cleaned out. There were bottles of chemicals corroding all over the place.
I found chemicals that were no longer suitable for use in high schools as
well. Anyway, we had a lot of Gentian Violet, which I got rid of because of
the cancer risk. I chuckle at my actions now as I recommend its use to moms.
