From my understanding of such products, only Neocate is truly
hypoallergenic.The others may or may not be a problem for a particular baby,
since they do still contain the implicated proteins, broken-down or not.
This thread made me wonder if peds and others inform parents of the
source protein in these products. I wonder if the average vegetarian parents
would guess that meat protein is ever used in an AIM. I cannot imagine that
parents would think to ask about this.
I have to say that I love the idea of providing the most expensive, least
appetizing product so that babies and parents are less likely to become
enamored of it.
