Thank you, Pam, for your eloquent description of the universal challenges of
breastfeeding. Dispite our romantic notions that bfg always works when in a
'state of nature', the infant mortality rates in the past and currently in
the developing world belie those notions. Inability to feed is a huge risk
factor for any infant any where for any reason. Our job as breastfeeding
experts is to learn as much as we can about why these things happen and to
correct them if we can.
