After reading the last Lactnet digest on the Aussie hospital practice in the
neonatal unit of testing pumped milk weekly and then about the breastmilk
contamination conference; I realize I now have 3 wishes for the New Year or
sooner!

1. From now on the neonatal units that test pumped milk weekly, must test
infant formula weekly for bacteria counts!! And destroy the infant formula
with high bacteria counts. Fair is fair.

2. From now on for every breastmilk contamination conference there has to be
an infant formula contamination conference. In fact the ratio should be for
every one breastmilk contamination conference, there should be 2 infant
formula contamination conferences.

3. And for peace and compassion in the world (which begins with the way we
mother our babies)..... Valerie W. McClain, IBCLC
