I have long noticed that foods or herbs which aid digestion are the best
galactogogues. Earl Mindell recommends anise, dill and caraway. Oatstraw is
high in magnesium and calcium. Fenugreek, fennel, milk thstle and blessed
thistle all act to improve gut health. EFA's have an almost "greasing the
machinery" kind of effect on the gut. A basic tenet of functional medicine is
that gut health determines brain/neurological health. I would venture to
guess that there is a similar correlation between the gut and milk production.
