Kathy Wright inquired about treatment for ringworm on
the breasts...the medication recommended to the mom is
Lotrimin cream. The most current info I have
recommends that, as an anti-fungal agent for use on
the breasts or nipples, the Gyne-Lotrimin brand
(specifically) is the safest. The active ingredient
(the anti-fungal agent) in many of these over-the
counter creams is the same; however, some of the
inactive ingredients they are blended with are of
concern. The inactive ingredients of Gyne-Lotrimin
brand cream are safe to use in breastfeeding.
I have no financial interest in this product; just
passing along some information.
