At the Triangle Mothers' Milk Bank, we shipp the milk frozen, packed in
crushed newspapers in a cooler via FedEx Overnight Express. We do not use ice
packs, dry ice or ice, just newspapers.
I have worked with a couple of moms in my private practice who worked out of
town and they froze the milk, put in a cooler and took to the airport and
shipped directly on a flight to their waiting husbands. I had another mom who
put it on the bus ( they accept packages for shipment) and it arrived 12 hrs
later for her husband to pick up at the bus station.
