Marsha, I enjoyed hearing your story, as another single mother raising four
children! My eldest is 24, his sister is 22, and the two younger boys are 20
and 16. All breastfed. I became a La Leche League Leader the week before my
second child was born, and was divorced when my youngest was four. Their
father has been largely uninvolved (he moved quickly on to a new family) and
at first he even fought paying child support. I've worked at a patchwork of
part-time jobs ever since - mostly writing. I'd always dreamed of having a
large family, so I think working with babies and mothers has in part helped
fill that longing for more children. My eldest son and his wife are now
expecting their first baby and I am SO excited! They promise it will be
breastfed.
