Hello, wise ones. I am learning more each day from Lactnet, and I thank all of you for sharing.
I have a situation with a client that I have not previously encountered, and I would like your advice on how to approach this matter.
I am the doula for a client due March 17th. She is choosing natural childbirth. She sent me a copy of her birth plan yesterday, and I was distressed to see the following section:
Feeding:
Breastfeed and Bottle Feed
I would like my baby fed on a schedule.
If you were working with this mother, how would you approach her about this? I have never had a mother in 4 years put this on her birth plan! I think she will sabotage her breastfeeding success with this statement - do you agree?
All suggestions welcome, offlist if you prefer.
Thanks,
Jennifer Davis, ICCE-CD, CD(DONA)
