This article proposing testing of all pregnant women in Washington
State for AIDS was written for the Opinion page of the Tacoma News
Tribune by the director of the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Dept. This
online version doesn't have "the picture is worth a thousand words"
photo of four children in plastic bag paint shirts painting....
"Children with HIV and AIDS, like these attending a special Head
Start program in New Jersey, usually contract the virus through an
infected mother, either in utero or by breast feeding. If a mother's
HIV status is known, it's possible to prevent transmission."
Interesting, most people won't read the article, just see the photo
