I am a hospital based lactation consultant. I recently recommended that a
mother discuss the possibility of taking fluconazole for yeast using the
often recommended dosage 400mg loading and 100 mg twice a day for 10 days.
The physician informed us that this was way too high and demanded that we
provide references in professional scientific journals. I have had
difficulty finding this information. Could any of you who recommend this
medication provide references. Physician thinks he will be sued. He would
not accept an on line reference such as many of the excellent breastfeeding
sites. Thanks so much for your help. Kathy Romberger, RNC, IBCLC
