It is very true that OTs, PTs, Social Workers, nutritionists etc are
now "free standing" professions, I believe that historically their
functions were at one time part of being a nurse.  As the specific
needs of the job increased/became more defined, they developed into
separate entities.  I believe this gives us some legitimate hope
that LCs will follow the same pattern.  On the other hand, it
doesn't hurt to keep pressing for the independent recognition.
