Maybe it is not a dairy allergy. If she eliminated dairy (even if not all
"fine print" dairy) but the eczema is worse, perhaps explore what other
foods or contact allergens it could be. Eggs, peanuts and tree nuts, are
other common allergens. Someone recently posted the National Institute of
allergy and Infectious Diseases website at
http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/food.htm#A which is a fabulous website
that explains allergies and how to diagnose and treat. Treatment basically
is finding and eliminating the allergen.

In general, besides finding the allergen culprit, it is helpful to not bathe
the baby too often, use a very mild cleanser (the pedi, derm, or allergist
could suggest), use a very mild detergent in the wash, not scented, and
double rinse the baby clothes, no dryer sheets in the dryer, no scented
lotions, etc, no baby wipes, no mommy perfumes, etc. Has she considered all
this too?
