In the situation where the mother has been advised to wean because of the
baby's diagnosis, another factor that might be pertinent is "What types
of fat is the mother consuming?"
I remember reading somewhere that the type (Long chain versus medium
chain) of fats in breast milk (not the amount) changed with the type of
fats in the mother's diet.
This idea might be worth researching further, and changing the mother's
diet, and then assaying the long/medium chain types of fat in her
breastmilk then. Just a thought.
