Hi,
This discussion is close to my heart.
I feel that childbirth/antenatal classes can be a part of the 'problem' but
it is more a problem because of the language used and the emphasis on the
'problem' side of the topic rather than the joy/excitement/strength/it's
normal/I can do this..... type of message.
I went to a women's health seminar last night, it was informative,
interesting and witty but I was annoyed at the implications that women's
stuff is ...a nuisance, difficult, needs fixing, is a disease.....etc. etc.
It is a big thing but then again 'it' isn't also celebrated in any way in
our 'culture'.
Sue.
