In response to the comment "was this a grey market consignment meant for
relief" I am very sure that fortunately this was not the case. Heaven
forbid. What has been interesting about this particular incident has been
just how cooperative the retailer concerned has been. I explained my
concerns about the low iron formula in our environment and asked that they
at least remove it from the shelves. They in fact elected to remove the
whole consignment from the shelves immediately ( contained other formula
and cereal that did not meet labeling requirements). There response has
been "we need education, so we can do the right thing". Makes one think.
Given that this formula concerned is marked from 0 - 12 months I feel there
is potential for problems in any country. As I mentioned the asterix and
the "need for supplemental iron" is in very small type.
MY question is how is this stuff marketed to mothers ?
Kind Regards
