I, too, have often wondered about whether there is a cumulative effect
when several "no concern" meds are used in combination by a mom. I have
also had docs say "Sure, there's no problem with xxxx or yyyy med when
used alone, but does the same apply when both are used?"
A challenge to Drs Hale, Nice, etc. Is it possible to come up with any
kind of system to make such evaluations? I am sure it is very complex.
I suspect that one given blood pressure med, for example, might be no
concern when used in combination with say an antibiotic, but if used
with another BP med or a cardiac med might have a cumulative effect that
would change its "L" rating. If it is possible to have some even
genreral guidelines, it would be great.
