Maybe the "No more VBACS" rule is a step in the right direction. It is very
near the truth, although the truth is still far from common knowledge.
If you chose to birth in a medical setting with medical attendants you will
have a medical birth. If you do not want a medical birth, you really need
to chose a non-medical birthplace and non-medical attendants. If your
attendants are surgeon/physicians you will get drugs and surgery.
Now, for the nearly 25% of pregnant women who have had a previous cesarean,
the choice is crystal clear. Hospital birth = cesarean. Period.
