Most of our newborns (large HMO) are weighed at birth and before discharge if they stay a second day. They are seen for the mom-newborn visit 2-3 days after discharge. If they are doing well with feedings then and there isn't a significant weight loss, I will see them at 2 weeks. For BF problems, weight loss above 10% or small babies (or if my instinct says bring them in sooner) I will see them as often as needed (daily, if needed) until issues are resolved. I have had some babies in for 5 or 6 visits by 2 weeks. The pediatric department here supports whatever I think is necessary.
