Though I have not personally had the opportunity to participate in a
nurse-in, in the US there is often a reaction as if you were staging a huge
protest when you discreetly feed your baby in public. Outrageous over
reaction. I regularly nurse my baby in public regardless of the location to
be one more person who normalizes what SHOULD be normal.

Argument. There really is no argument. There is an understanding of the
importance of, the natural and normal nourishment that breastmilk is and the
many risks and very inferior nourishment of formula........or there is a lack
of understanding. Our goal should be to help them gain that understanding.

Though it may make some uncomfortable, I do not feel that a "rational,
practical, accepting of opinions" approach has been working over the last few
decades, at least in THIS country. It is more than time for PASSIONATE
discussions, UNACCEPTANCE of a parent's "right" to cavalierly lower their
child's IQ, increase their illnesses and risks for so many diseases. How can
we have a national campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness that does not
emphasize the great reduction that nursing offers?

If you're a proponent of informed decisions, then let's get the REAL facts
out there for a REAL informed decision. No glossing over the severely
inferior product that formula is.
