My understanding of allergy testing (particularly skin testing) was that it
wasn't at all accurate in children under the age of 2 -- and it was
questionable then. Am I hopelessly out of date on this? I'm struggling with
the notion that skin testing in a 3 month old is not going to be irritating
to the skin in and of itself. I'm certainly not an allergy expert, but I'd
love some more insight on this. And a nearly-newborn allergic to ALL these
things? Sounds a wee bit odd to me.
Hang on to the breastfeeding -- and my hunch is to look for something else.
Has mom been using the nefarious bulb syringe in the baby's nose?
Anyone???
