Breastfeding is OK once a mom is awake enough from anesthesia to be able to breastfeed. Ruth Lawrence's text says that in a longer way.
Most meds used to clean the bowel pre scope are not absorbed, they work by pulling water into the bowel.
To reassure mom all the meds involved can be checked in Tom H's book.
If I may offer this mom some personal advice, my irritable bowel bough my a scope once, keep those baby wipes handy.
