Good Heavens! 8 or greater may not be normal, but they aren't totally
pathologic! Adequate follow-up needs to be undertaken. The level needs to
be checked and infant feeding assessed (is it really happening, is
colostrum/milk being transferred?) but what a waste of resources to
separate mother/baby and put poor baby under lights :-(
Somebody needs there head examined! (No doubt wasn't BF as a baby :-) Pat
