Dear Colleagues, it is probably time to reintroduce myself. I am a
registered nurse and LC. We have been overseas in the UK for 5 years with
the Air Force where I volunteered my time as a LC. We have recently moved
back to the US and I am teaching in a BSN program. I am desiring a two fold
request. I would like to do some research with my students on there
attitudes of breastfeeding and would like to know if others out there have
done similar study and have suggestions. I would also like to eventually
look at becoming the LC in our student health center for families on the
campus. Is there anyone who has experience being a LC for a university
setting? What suggestions do you have? I am looking at the possiblity of
joint appointment but that is cumbersome do to the nature of breastfeeding.
I can't really do 2 days a week LC and provide the type of care that I would
like to see. Thanks for suggestions. Allison
