Just a thought re mother with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder; some of the
people affected have an extreme need for order, repetitive behaviors and
failure to maintain these causes panic and/or severe anxiety. Would not
breastfeeding, which is not measurable, scheduled, etc. be harder for a mom
to deal with supposedly than bottle feeding on a schedule, using measured
amounts and so forth. I can think of ways to help an OCD mom to breastfeed
despite her compulsions or obsessiveness, but this may be what makes bottle
feeding seem easier. Some people with OCD have excessive handwashing
compulsions and obsessions about germs so body contact like breastfeeding may
be too overwhelming.

I'm just speculating.. but I always feel when moms are worked with and given
info if there's a will ther's a way...
