In the Norwegian paper 'Dagsavisen' yesterday there was an item about a
woman in S. Sweden, Monique Hörnquist, who wonders whether they give medals
for BFing the longest, like they do for dairy cows who produce record
amounts of milk (which, BTW, was news to me too).
She is photographed with her husband and their 11 children, ranging in age
from 23 years to about 1, it looks like, and the headline says 'Breastfed
for over 23 years'.
The photo is too small to see what the brood look like, but she is in the
foreground with her lovely baby, Malva, on her arm, and they all, that would
be husband Tore and children Joakim, Dennis, Niclas, Victor, Sebastian,
Benjamin, Scarias, Miranda, Millie-Mollie, and Mylla, look quite contented.
The best part is the typographical error in the piece, stating that she had
her first baby at age 20, and is now 34, that's thirty-four years old.
Not everyone can do 23 years worth of BFing in 14 years, so maybe she does
deserve a medal.
And she looks like a good candidate for an even dozen, so check back in a
year or two for the latest update.
