Another common reason for tongue tip elevation is to increase stability in
the head, neck and shoulder area. More attention to baby's posture, maybe a
slight bit more flexion of the head, can help these babies drop their tongue.
Sometimes, these babies do better lying down, where they don't have to worry
about supporting their heads and eating simultaneously. And often eliciting
a really wide opening encourages the tongue to drop. Working to normalize
the baby's tone can do wonders. Suck training is useful, too.
