Human Milk Banking Association Of North America (HMBANA) has
Recommendations for Collection and Storage of Mothers Milk in a Hospital
Setting. Contact the Denver Milk Bank at
Denver, CO (303) 869-1888
As a former Milk Bank and Coordinator of Breastfeeding Center we use a
regular upright Freezer (one that you have to defrost, cannot be self
defrosting. We have never had to use a commercial freezer. The regular
freezers work fine. The freezer temperatures are monitored on a daily
basis and recorded for. They are maintained at -20 C. ( 0 F)
Hope this is helpful.
Thank you,
Darlene Breed, BS, RN, IBCLC
