Kathleen wondered about the baby who can temporarily only have medium chain
triglyceride fats because of chylothorax "perhaps the breastmilk can be spun
down ,
fat removed, and MCT s added in, fed at breast via a supplementer."
Somebody else suggested this a while back, too.
So my question, for Tony, Nancy W., and others who work with these babies:
are the MCT's commercially (or otherwise) available, such that it would be
possible to add them to skimmed mother's milk? Is there any way to get them
other than in a specialty formula?
Inquiring minds etc.
